The Digital Bus April 2022 Newsletter

As we are navigating back towards classroom projects and looking forward to the return of all our field based programs, we are also taking a look back at the past two years. Like everyone within the education field, the pandemic took a heavy toll on our programs—staying socially distant within a small mobile classroom is effectively impossible! We were forced to reassess everything we do, establish entirely new project formats, and create relevant curriculum to ensure the students of Maui Nui still had access to our resources. Although nothing will ever measure up to the positive outcomes in-person field based lessons can have, our evolution into the virtual world of education has proven itself more successful than we could have hoped.

Both the Maui and Moloka’i Digital Busses are delivering a variety of programs to K-12 students on our respective islands. From the year long KILO and PILINA programs on Moloka’i to the brand new interactive virtual projects on Maui, both Digital Bus programs continued to be one of the leading science and ‘Ike Hawai’i resources available. And as always, we were able to keep all of our programs completely free! Mahalo nui loa for your support throughout these tricky years.
